On Monday, June 14, 2021, a global recall was announced by Philips Electronics with regards to degradation of the sound abatement foam in a number of their PAP devices.
SmartMed devices are not subject to this recall and remain safe to use.
The SmartMed devices utilize a completely different material for sound reduction than the material used by Philips in the affected devices.
Every component and material of the SmartMed devices, including Sound Abatement materials have been audited and pass all quality controls for safety.
